The account

2025, the hundredth edition of the Rolex Fastnet Race. Chris Stanmore-Major invited our founder aboard Osprey, an 80-foot Farr maxi: Cowes, around the Fastnet Rock, finish in Cherbourg.

The mainsail went on at four in the morning the night before the start, the two of them finishing it together.

Osprey raced the centenary and finished in Cherbourg.

We were delighted and relieved to have you aboard. Your extensive knowledge of the vessel was essential to getting us to Fastnet, and I know all of the others felt the same way as I about your invaluable assistance. Fair winds my friend.
Patrick Laine, crew, Rolex Fastnet 2025
