Your crew, one voice
channel. No cloud.

Used by the 3D3D crew on remote build jobs and field work across New Brunswick. When we deploy Yak for your team, you host it on your own server — no external service touches your communication.

Yak is a private team communication tool: push-to-talk voice, encrypted chat, and file handoff with tamper-evident message stamps. No cloud accounts required — it runs self-hosted on your own server, on your own domain, with no external service touching your data.

What you get

What do you get with Yak?

A named system of 4 components — not a list of features, a description of what the software actually does.

Voice

Push-to-Talk

Instant voice channels — crew, dock, and boat — with no latency lag and no cloud account required to activate or maintain them.

Chat

Encrypted Messaging

Text and file handoff with delivery confirmation and tamper-evident stamps. Each message hashed at send time; the chain is auditable.

Integrity

Message Audit Trail

Every message receives a hash that can be verified later. Nothing was deleted or altered silently. The record stands up to dispute.

Hosting

Self-Hosted Mode

Run Yak on your own server, your own domain. No external service handles your crew's communications, stores your logs, or can be subpoenaed for your data.

Named proof

Who built this, and why does it work?

Used by the 3D3D crew across remote build jobs and field work in New Brunswick. No cloud accounts, no external service — the server runs on our own hardware.

Straight answers

Questions about Yak.

Does Yak require a cloud account or subscription?
No. Yak is self-hosted. You run it on your own server and your crew connects directly. No external service handles your communication, stores your logs, or retains your data.
Is the voice channel encrypted?
Yes. Voice and chat are encrypted in transit. Message hashes are stamped at send time; the chain can be verified later to confirm nothing was altered or deleted.
Can Yak be adapted for a commercial operations team?
Yes. The self-hosted model makes it suitable for teams where communications must stay internal — construction sites, marine operations, field service crews. Email info@3d3d.ca.
What hardware does Yak's server component require?
Any Linux VPS or on-premise server with at least 1 GB RAM. Client apps run on iOS and Android. The server component is a single binary with no external dependencies.
