3D3D is committed to ensuring that our website and services are accessible to all people, including individuals with disabilities. We aim to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at Level AA, published by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C). WCAG 2.2 is used as an additional internal target where practical.
1. Our Commitment
We believe the web should be accessible to everyone. We are continuously working to improve the accessibility of our website and ensure that our digital content can be used by as many people as possible, regardless of ability or technology.
2. Conformance Status
Partially conformant: 3d3d.ca is partially conformant with WCAG 2.1 Level AA. "Partially conformant" means that some parts of the content do not fully conform to the accessibility standard, and we are actively working to address these gaps.
3. Accessibility Features
Our website includes the following accessibility features:
Navigation and Structure
- Semantic HTML throughout, with proper use of headings, landmarks, lists, and buttons
- ARIA roles and attributes on interactive components (dialogs, modals, expandable elements)
- Keyboard navigation support. All interactive elements can be reached and operated with a keyboard
- Focus indicators with visible focus outlines on all interactive elements (3px solid outline)
- Focus trapping in drawers and modals, which prevents focus from leaving open dialogs
- Escape key closes all drawers and modals
Visual Design
- Color contrast ratios meet WCAG AA requirements (minimum 4.5:1 for normal text, 3:1 for large text)
- Information is not conveyed by colour alone. All colour-coded elements include text labels
- Text can be resized up to 200% without loss of content or functionality
- No content flashes more than 3 times per second
Motion and Animation
- Respects
prefers-reduced-motion. All CSS transitions and animations collapse to near-instant (0.01ms) when this preference is set - No auto-playing video or audio
- No parallax scrolling effects
- Approximately 26% of web users may have this preference active, and we consider it non-negotiable to support
Interactive Elements
- All touch targets are a minimum of 48x48 CSS pixels with at least 8px spacing
- Form inputs have a minimum font size of 16px to prevent unwanted zooming on iOS devices
- All form inputs have associated labels
- Drawers use
role="dialog"andaria-modal="true"with proper labelling
4. Technologies Used
This website is built with:
- HTML5 with semantic elements
- CSS3 with Tailwind CSS utility framework
- JavaScript (React / Next.js) for interactive components
- Static HTML export with no server-side rendering required, improving reliability
The website is designed to work with modern browsers and assistive technologies including screen readers (NVDA, JAWS, VoiceOver), voice control software, and keyboard-only navigation.
5. Known Limitations
Despite our efforts, some areas of the website may not yet be fully accessible. Known limitations include:
- Third-party content: Some images generated by AI tools may have descriptions that do not fully capture all visual details. We are working to improve alt text quality.
- PDF documents: If future PDF documents are added, they may not yet meet full accessibility standards. We will provide accessible alternatives upon request.
- Older browsers: Some visual features (such as backdrop-filter for glass effects) may not render correctly in older browsers, but all content remains readable and functional.
