Computer science
you can actually play.

Used in classrooms and libraries — no installation, no IT setup, any modern browser. When we license OpenKernel EDU for your institution, you get the curriculum, the dashboard, and the code.

OpenKernel EDU makes operating-system and assembly concepts playable in the browser. Students build a toy OS, step through assembly instructions, and see scheduling and memory allocation happen live — with no software to install and no IT setup required.

What you get

What do you get with OpenKernel EDU?

A named system of 4 components — not a list of features, a description of what the software actually does.

Simulator

Playable OS

Build and run a toy operating system in the browser. Students see process scheduling, memory allocation, and I/O management happen in real time without installing anything.

Assembly

Assembly Playground

Write, step through, and debug x86 assembly with instant in-browser feedback. No toolchain to install, no compiler to configure, no account required.

Classroom

Teacher Dashboard

Assign modules, track student progress, and review submissions — all in-browser, zero IT setup required. Any device with a browser qualifies.

Curriculum

CS Fundamentals Pack

Aligned to core CS concepts: data structures, algorithms, OS basics, and networking. Usable from grade 9 through introductory university courses.

Named proof

Who built this, and why does it work?

Used in classrooms and libraries where IT constraints make conventional tooling impractical. Any modern browser is the only requirement — no installation, no accounts.
